HTML Compression

Built in HTML compression



fw8 now offfers built in HTML compression. This is becoming more important as a performance parameter for Google. The framework pre-processes the compression before caching to avoid any performance hits.

Minification refers to the process of removing unnecessary or redundant data without affecting how the resource is processed by the browser - e.g. code comments and formatting, removing unused code, using shorter variable and function names, and so on.

HTML compression is enabled using a web.config app setting:
